The Flagstaff City Council had a special meeting today starting at 10AM regarding a parcel of land they agreed on June 27th to send out to bid for the purpose of building affordable housing. A group opposing the development of this city owned parcel submitted a petition to council this week asking for reconsideration on the issue.
A few minutes ago the council voted 4-2 to take this property off the list for consideration. Councilmembers Overton, Odegaard, McCarthy and Mayor Evans voted to remove the property. Councilmembers Barotz and Whelan voted to send the property to bid for development of affordable housing. Councilmember Eva Putzova, who was at the meeting earlier, left before the vote was cast.
