Flagstaff RESOLUTION asks Sheriff to notify I.C.E. of detainees UNDOCUMENTED status AFTER release

At Tuesday’s Flagstaff City Council Meeting, a citizen petition was heard asking the Flagstaff City Council to adopt a resolution opposing Coconino County Sheriff Jim Driscoll’s current policy of working with I.C.E. agents regarding inmate immigration status and asks the Sheriff to only

notify I.C.E. “of individuals suspected of being undocumented after they are released from custody”

The resolution was not adopted by the council yet but received five head nods to move forward for future consideration. Only 4 are needed for a future vote for approval. Councilman Scott Overton, who opposed the resolution moving forward, joins Jeff on the show to discuss what happened.

Listen HERE.

NOTE: The person who created the petition did not respond to a request for an interview.
