Rancher in Southern AZ murder trial pleads not guilty. George Alan Kelly, 74, was recently charged with 2nd degree murder and aggravated assault over allegedly killing a Mexican citizen who trespassed on his ranch in southern Arizona. A trial has been set for September 6th in Santa Cruz Superior Court in Nogales. Prosecutors are arguing that Kelly had no basis for firing what Kelly described as warning shots over men he claimed were carrying AK47’s on his ranch. The body of Gabriel Cuen-Buitimea, 48, a Mexican citizen who was deported several times in the past for illegally entering into the United States, was later discovered on Kelly’s ranch.
